Sod installation

Old lawn out.
New lawn by dinner.

Tall fescue grown on our Tabernacle farm, cut the morning of your job and laid on a soil bed we build first. Atlantic County sand needs that bed. We do not sell seed and hope. We only lay sod.

There is no menu of upgrades. Each item here comes with the job.

Tear-out — the old turf scraped to bare dirt and hauled off
Composted topsoil — aged 12 months and spread over the sand in layers, never cheap fill
Lime, starter fertilizer and pre-emergent — worked into the bed to fix sour South Jersey soil
Tall fescue from our farm — grown 9 months, cut that morning, in big net-free rolls
A pass with a 300 lb roller — seams pushed tight and roots pressed into the soil for a smooth lawn
Thirty days of aftercare — a watering plan, then we return for the first cut and a second feeding
Sprinkler heads adjusted — we aim your current system at the new grass
Cleanup — leftover pieces and pallets leave with our truck

Three steps from text to lawn.

01

Text the address

We measure from satellite photos and send back a real price, usually that same day. No one needs to come to the door, which is handy for a shore house you visit on weekends.

02

Install day

Old grass gone, soil rebuilt, lime and feed down, fresh rolls laid tight and rolled. Most yards wrap up before evening.

03

A month of aftercare

You water by the plan. We return for the first cut and a second feeding, and replace any piece that did not root.

Sod questions we get.

What does new sod cost?
Most installs run $2.00 to $5.00 per square foot. Our standard rate is $2.85 for an average yard. Large, open properties come in lower, and rocks or gravel to remove push it higher. The rate covers tear-out, composted topsoil, lime, starter feed, farm-fresh rolls and 30 days of aftercare. At $2.85, a 1,500 sq ft yard lands near $4,275. Our minimum project is $2,000, and your written quote holds for 30 days.
How long will you be working at my place?
Usually a single day. We strip the old turf in the morning and lay the new rolls after lunch. A large lot can spill into a second day.
Do I need to prep anything?
No. We handle the tear-out, grading, soil, laying, rolling and the first deep watering. From there you follow the watering plan we hand you.
What happens if a section dies?
Your lawn comes with 30 days of aftercare. Keep to the watering plan, and if any piece fails to root during that time, we bring new sod and replace it for free.
How fast can you schedule me?
In season we can often install the same week your deposit comes in. The deposit is 30% of the price. It locks your date and is taken off the final bill. We lay sod from spring through mid October.
